Rest

Can you believe that it's already December 19th? Where has the week gone? Where has the month gone? For that matter, where has the year gone?!

In these final days before Christmas I hope that you find quality time with family, and restful time with the Lord. That may sound like an odd request, but it comes straight from the mouth of Jesus. Check out Mark 6:30-32:

The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place.

Jesus knew exactly what he was doing when he made the suggestion. The truth is that time resting in his presence fills us in more ways than one. In the midst of the lights and parties of the season, may you enjoy sweet fellowship with our Lord. May you dive into the word and be replenished and filled with the peace that comes only from Him!

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests. Luke 2:14
