God's Will

Anyone feel equipped to teach kids about this one?! I sure don't.

I feel like I'm stumbling along half the time and questioning every decision I make. I recently took a step in a direction I felt the Lord was leading me. Of course the next day I began to wonder if I had actually heard the Lord or just made up what I wanted to do. A dear friend wrote the following:

Praying for you friend. Of course this would happen. Of course the enemy wants to make you think that you made the wrong decision. But you know that if it's God's plan to do anything else he would A) make that clear AND B) he would get you there no matter what. God is sovereign. He is in control, and you are not. Look at this as an opportunity to strengthen your trust and faith in Him. Do you trust him? Do you really believe that what he has is better, even if it is significantly harder and costs you more?

This also reminds me of Elijah. I love Elijah. A strong, powerful man of God who struggled with depression and the approval of man (sounds familiar to me.) One minute he is calling down FIRE FROM HEAVEN and the next he is ready to give up! The amazing thing is that God is there gently calling to him the entire time. Check it out in 1 Kings 18-19. "Arise, eat, because the journey is too great for you."

The journey ahead is great for all of us. He is speaking and desires to guide us every step of the way.

This weekend we will finish up the final week of "In A Nutshell" with a look at the story of how Jesus surrendered his own will when he paid our fee on the cross.

See you then...

Ginger
