"The way God changes your life is by changing you."

I've recently just finished a great book, Wide Awake by Erwin McManus. The entire premise centers around living our lives as Jesus did - a heroic life void of monotony. It might be easy for us to raise our hands and wonder why this world teems with pain and suffering. "How could God let this happen?" But the truth is that the solution may just be in our very own hands. We are to be the extension of Christ to the world. This place desperately needs each of us to live up to the greatness placed within us by the Divine Creator.

"I don't know if you've realized it yet, but after you enter into a relationship with God, you're not translated into a different universe. You still live in the same world you were in before you came to God. You still have the same life that overwhelmed you before you came to God. You still have the same marriage that challenged you before you came to God. You're still living in the same skin of the person you didn't like before you came to God. You have the same problems, the same weaknesses, the same circumstances, only now the expectations have changed. You are now supposed to live at an entirely new level. You may not fully realize or recognize that what is changing is actually you. The way God changes your life is by changing you." -Erwin McManus

We have been given a precious gift, the challenge to impact hundreds of lives every weekend for Christ. I do not know what goes on in each of your lives on a daily basis, but I do know that life on earth is far from perfect. My prayer this week is that you may find comfort in knowing that God's transformation is at work in you. His power is perfected in our weakness. Your smile and encouragement to the kids in Elevate are the very extension of Jesus into their lives. Be encouraged! He works in spite of us and the Bible promises that he is for us!

I will see you guys this weekend! Don't forget to let me know how I can be praying for you and also if you have a change in your schedule. p.s. Last weekend to dress up for Bible Boot Camp!
