Journey

"The people walking in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
a light has dawned.
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9:2, 6
I am excited to enter the season of Advent! The word 'advent' is Latin for 'a coming or arrival'. Advent is a time of the year when we prepare our hearts for Christmas. Most people spend all four weeks of Advent buying or making gifts to give out for Christmas, scheduling Christmas travel, and getting ready for the big Christmas meal. By the time it's over, we need a vacation from the holiday!

All of those things can be a lot of fun, but it can be pretty easy to think that presents, or lights, or trees, or even family are the real meaning of Christmas. It’s so important for us to remember the true meaning of Christmas. Over the next few weeks we will be celebrating the Advent Season during our services in Jungle and Elevate. Join us in preparing your hearts to worship the King!
P.S. Don't forget to mark your calendars for the HD presentations of the “Best Christmas Present Ever” and the “Living Nativity” on Saturday, December 13th at 5:00pm. There will not be services in Elevate and Jungle on that evening as this family-style event will replace our Saturday evening services and children’s programming.
