The Holy Spirit

But the Lord said to me, “My grace is enough for you. When you are weak, then my power is made perfect in you.” So I am very happy to brag about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can live in me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (ICB)

This weekend is our fourth and final week of "Unusual Suspects." We have been learning all about the twelve disciples, their imperfections, and God's grace.

We learned that we were all created for a purpose and were given a mission. That mission is to tell others about Jesus. We share the Good News of Jesus’ work on the cross and the hope of forgiveness and eternal life with Him. Just like the disciples, we're not perfect. Even in the worst of times, God is still with us. We can be forgiven because Jesus paid for our mistakes by dying on the cross. But, the story doesn't end there - Jesus rose from the dead three days later and even hung out with his disciples for forty days before going back to heaven.

This week we are learning about the power God gives us. He gives us the power of the Holy Spirit to direct our lives and help us share the word.

Acts 1:8 says, “But the Holy Spirit will come to you. They you will receive power. You will be my witnesses- in Jerusalem, in Samaria, and in every part of the world.”

Jesus promised his disciples that he would send them power through the Spirit! Just like the disciples couldn't do anything on their, neither can we. But the amazing thing is that God’s Spirit, the Holy Spirit, helps us to spread love to others.

See you all this weekend for an amazing service!
