Fighting Hunger

Did you know that 40,000 children die every day from malnutrition, starvation, and hunger-related diseases.

So what's the solution?

One of the solutions is a revolutionary food package that has been developed by some of the world's leading food scientists at Cargill, Pillsbury, General Mills and ADM. This one package provides six nutritionally-complete servings to feed starving children around the world as well as the hungry here at home, and all for the low cost of 23 cents per serving.

So what does this mean for HD? This November, Jungle and Elevate will be collecting quarters to help fund these nutritionally-complete servings through an organization called “Kids Against Hunger.” We will also be collecting canned goods for the West Side Food Bank.
Through our ECHO emphasis this weekend, we will be addressing the way that Jesus asks us to respond to the poverty of the world. As volunteers, we have the opportunity to set the example and encourage our kids to sacrifice for others. Hebrews 13:16 reads, “Do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased."

We hope to see you tonight at the Trick-or-Treat Tailgate party! If not, enjoy your Friday night and remember to be a light!

“Your lives are echoing the Master’s word, not only in the provinces but all over the world.” 1 Thessalonians 1:8
